Can We Fkn Talk?
Have you ever had that moment in Motherhood where you’ve wondered, “Why did no one tell me this BEFORE I had a baby?” Well I’m here to change all that by having the conversations you wish you had before becoming a parent.
I’m Ashleigh Scrivener, a Connective Parenting and Mindset Coach passionate about supporting Mums to put themselves first so that you have the capacity to respond to your child’s needs and connect not only to yourself but your kids as well. With over 10 years in the early childhood education and care industry, I know a thing or two about early childhood development, children’s behaviour and supporting families through the early years, but when I became a parent myself, I felt like a fish out of water. I love supporting Mums find more ease in their parenting, personal and professional lives while saying goodbye to Mum guilt for good.
This show will feature conversations, stories, helpful tips and parenting support from guest experts and parents with the goal of sharing publicly the conversations every Mum needs to hear.

Can We Fkn Talk?
013 | Carlie S - Culture, generational trauma and mental health (Part 2)
⚠️Trigger Warning: This episode discusses generational trauma, systemic racism, and mental health challenges.
In this deeply moving and insightful episode, I continue my conversation with Carlie Schofield, exploring the intersection of Motherhood, mental health, and the impact of generational trauma. Carlie shares her personal journey as a Mother navigating the unique challenges shaped by her Mum’s experience as part of Australia’s Stolen Generation.
Together, we discuss the struggles of seeking mental health support, the cultural barriers many Mothers face, and the ongoing ripple effects of systemic racism. Carlie’s story is a powerful reminder of the strength and resilience within cultural identity, the importance of community, and the need for culturally sensitive support systems.
Whether you’re a Mum, an advocate for mental health, or someone eager to understand how culture shapes the parenting experience, this episode is both eye-opening and empowering.
